Armagh Observatory in the 1950s

This movie was made by Bill Mackle and shows a visit by members of the Irish Astronomical Society to the Armagh Observatory during the 1950s.

The movie includes the following;

• Dr Eric Lindsay meeting the visitors in front of the Observatory
• Visitors gaining access to the anemometer on the roof via a trapdoor and steps
• The 10 inch Grubb refractor
• The Robinson Dome
• Climbing the tower to view the sunshine recorder
